Question:
I went to Golf Galaxy and hit several clubs on their monitor. Of course, no one came to help me. What is the normal, or average, swing speeds for a 6-iron (steel shaft), a 3-wood (graphite), and a driver (graphite)? I just have nothing to compare my speeds with. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Here's a driver swing speed chart with some averages.

In regards to the chart that you posted before about swing speeds and the distance the ball "should" travel. I'm a 7 hanadicap with a swing speed average of 99 - 100 mph..I hit my drives an average of about 289. I am told by my friends that I have a nice slow swing..but they don't understand how I get the distance I get. According to your chart, I should only be hitting the ball between 210 and 230 yards..when I know I can hit the driver considerably farther than that. Please explain this for me because the calculations your using to explain this have some flaws. I don't think I could get to a 6 - 7 handicap hitting 230 yard drives..do you?
